YIBA Presents Love at Christmas

Yes I Believe Academy (YIBA) is a Social Enterprise focused on connecting adolescents and youths; giving them the required knowledge and skill to be relevant in their world. Their goal is to engage individuals within the ages of 15 – 40, empower them with relevant knowledge, skill and self awareness to navigate the current realities of our time.

 YIBA is  pleased to invite you to attend their Love at Christmas party to “Put a Smile On” a Child in Makoko, a waterfront slum settlement in the heart of Lagos mainland. 

Makoko, is a small settlement with more than 28,000 of its 85,000 population living on makeshift houses built on silt on top of water. This living condition deprives the children in this community of basic needs, decent living and access to education and infrastructures that improve the human condition. They attend classes in shanties often flooded and leaving them prone to communicable diseases. 

The Put A Smile On campaign is a call to elevate the human condition of underprivileged children in Africa. Yes I Believe Academy (YIBA) is a strategic partner of the United Nations Nigeria. 

OBJECTIVES OF THE CAMPAIGN 

1. To spotlight vulnerable communities and draw attention of elites to their plights.
2. To give a sense of hope by meeting the immediate needs of children in clothing, food, basic amenities.
3. To raise funds for the construction of a befitting classroom block for Shomaa Impressive School, Makoko to ease learning.

TARGET FUNDRAISER AMOUNT: N3,000,000 (Three Million Naira)
SPENDING PLAN Christmas Party: N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) 
SCHOOL RENOVATION: N2,500,000 (two million and five hundred thousand naira only) 

The cost of Putting a Smile On 300 (three hundred) children in Makoko comes down to N10000 per child.
