What You Need To Know About The Feminist Coalition

​ The feminist coalition is group of Nigerian Feminist that was created in July 2020. At less than 3 months into their existence, The feminist coalition took centre stage in coordinating and supporting the End SARS protests that recently rocked the nation.

The organisation co ordinated the fund raising and provided support for the protesters who needed medical and legal support during the course of the protests. The organistion was able to raise ₦147,855,788.28 ( which includes donations in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, GHS, KES, and BTC).

The most commendable of all the feats of the organisation was the high level of accountability and transparency displayed. Following the end of the End SARS protests, the remaining funds were donated to the following organisations:

1. #EndSARSresponse (Medical) - ₦20,114,087.25
2. The Legal Aid Network - ₦15,741,459.59
3. Relief for victims of police brutality and families of the deceased - ₦40,228,174.51
4. Memorial for the Fallen - ₦5,247,153.197
5. #EndSARSMentalHealthSupport - ₦6,121,678.73

 
The mission of the organisation is to champion equality for women in Nigerian society with a core focus on education, financial freedom and representation in public office. The organisation also envision a Nigeria where equality for all people is a reality in our laws and everyday lives.
