In order to ensure the daily issues faced by rural poor people and their communities are acknowledged, it is important that their stories are heard and their voices are amplified. With funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the specialised UN agency, they will bring together journalists from around Africa to attend a workshop aimed at enabling journalists to tell stories of rural development. Application deadline is 31st July, 2018. Participants will attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) in Kigali, Rwanda. They will have the opportunity to attend high level meetings, meet key policy influencers and rural development stakeholders. This should not be seen as a one-off workshop as the foundation expects all journalists who are selected to attend to pursue stories along these issues in their home countries after the workshop.
