Restructure Africa is an organisation that works to achieve social inclusion for disadvantaged members of the community. On Saturday 24th of September, 2022 the organisation held a medical check-up and consultation drive at the Ojooniyun recreation centre in Lagos, Nigeria. The medical outreach was held to support residents of the Ojooniyun community and its environs.
The event started by 10am with an opening prayer by Modupe Adebayo, a member of the Restructure Africa Team. After the opening prayer, a representative of Emzor pharmaceuticals Chinoyerem Obioma, spoke extensively on the Hepatitis virus. She explained the variants, modes of transmission, symptoms as well as the importance of the Hepatitis vaccine. Emzor pharmaceuticals partnered with Restructure Africa to make medications available for free.
The chairman of Ojooniyun community then came up to speak with his constituents and encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunity made available by Restructure Africa in the form of free tests, medications and subsidised vaccines. The Restructure Africa team lead, Mr Joshua Okoduwa thanked the community members for coming out to the event and also talked through the various medical support available to the participants.
Nigerian NGO had the opportunity to catch up with two of the participants to hear their feedback on their experience at the outreach.
Mr Yusuf shared that he was grateful for the opportunity to be educated and also for access to the free tests and medications. He particularly appreciated the timely manner with which the outreach was conducted.
Mrs Amdalat said she was thankful for the medical outreach as she had planned to go to the hospital and the outreach was a good opportunity to get some routine checks like the blood pressure monitoring done.
The outreach was an overall success! We at NigerianNGO congratulate Restructure Africa on the seamless execution of this event and wish them even more success in future endeavours.
