The Ejiro M Ukiri International Scholarship Fund(EMU) is a nonprofit organisation that was founded on January 21st, 2022 to foster the pursuit of higher education for Nigerian students in Nigeria via scholarships. Since their inception, they have fundraised over 2 million Naira in scholarships. The organisation opened their first scholarship award season on November 1st, 2022, and closed it on December 31st, 2022. Fifteen winners were chosen in January and received one hundred and fifty thousand Naira each to fund first-year university tuition, textbook, and accommodation costs.
The EMU Foundation is one that calls for the support of anyone and everyone who we are able to reach. They provide people with not only a way to give back to society and change the lives of students across the globe, but also give students the platform to know that their hard work and ambition is seen, acknowledged, and rewarded. The official vision statement of the organisation says that “..the Ejiro M Ukiri International Scholarship fund finances the further education of graduating Nigerian Senior Secondary School students Nationwide. They aim to give as much financial aid as they can to every student around the nation, regardless of their state of origin and background”. The mission of the organisation is to inspire graduating Senior Secondary School students (equivalent to high school students) to embark on their journey towards acquiring a University/ College education in Nigeria. They intend to do this by aiding their dreams and aspirations financially so as to relieve a substantial part of the burden that the cost of further education might be. The organisation's purpose is to support the young and talented minds that inhabit the winners and applicants of our scholarship, in order to provide them with a true and meaningful chance for success in the near future. The organisation has achieved this by adopting absolute transparency in everything so the application process remains free of biases and favouritism.
