A non-governmental Organisation (NGO), The Candlelight Foundation, held a ‘Walk Against Hunger’ in Lagos to raise funds for the needy.
Supported by Providus Bank, FBN Mortgages, Indomie Noodles, among others, the non-profit soup kitchen noted that the idea was an elongation of its free meals and other charitable acts to hundreds of starving persons in Nigeria’s economic capital.
The event held on May 4 after its novelty football match on April 19.
In a statement, the foundation’s executive director, Uzoamaka Okeke, said the foundation is working on two projects at the moment. The Football over Hunger match and the annual Walk Against Hunger. The football match was between two organisations in the Fintech industry: FINT and Pagatech on April 19.
