A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), in partnership with Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), yesterday, provided free medical services to over 195 school children of indigent families in the state.
Executive Director of LAPO, Dr. Obadiora Honestus, said the organization, through its community health outreach, institutionalized in 2015 as a direct response to health challenges, has played a major role in addressing maternal and child health challenges, occasioned by deepening poverty in Nigeria.

Honestus, who was represented by Mrs. Awawu Agun, said a total of 16,019 persons have befitted from the community health outreaches since its inception in 2015.

He added that LAPO, in 2022, improved the health conditions of 1,658,207 (492,466 men / 1,165,741 women) vulnerable community members across the country, in partnership with LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited.
