Lakeshore Cancer Center is the first medical center in Nigeria solely dedicated to cancer prevention and treatment. Lakeshore Cancer Center organized their biggest Health Fair on the 2nd of March, 2024 at the Landmark Beach in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Health Fair featured health talks, eye checks, dental exams, mental health counseling, fertility screening, diagnostic services and lots of fun and entertainment. Lakeshore Cancer Center partnered with over 18 health care providers including Evercare Hospital Lekki, Skipper Eye-Q Hospital, Smile360 Dental Clinic, Bridge Fertility Clinic, amongst many others by offering free and discounted health services to participants. People from all over Lagos were present for the Health Fair and you could see how glad and grateful they were. One of the beneficiaries said she was proud of herself after carrying out all the tests available and advised people to always take advantage of opportunities that will create a healthy lifestyle. NigerianNGO was able to speak to the Family Physician and Chief Medical Director of Lakeshore Cancer Center, Dr. Oge Ilegbune on what inspired the Health Fair. Dr. Oge described how they had been getting a lot of inquiries from people regarding other health care services even though they are dedicated to treating Cancer. So, they decided to host a Health Fair in a relaxed space where other health care providers will provide medical services to people for free or at a discounted price.
