How to Support those Impacted by the Coronavirus Outbreak in Nigeria

The coronavirus pandemic presents new opportunities for individuals and organizations to reach out to others who need help.  We are aware that a lot of people want to reach out to those impacted by the global pandemic but do not know which organizations to support during this period. To resolve this, we decided to provide some helpful resources to help you connect with relevant non-profit organizations.
Below are NGOs working to provide relief for families affected by the Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

1. Feed the Kids Initiative

Feed the kids initiative is a non-governmental organization that is working to develop and empower children by providing nutritional meals thereby enabling their minds to dream big and restoring their reason for life and a sustainable future.

They see a world where children can pursue their dreams and aspirations without having to worry about basic needs like food, shelter and education.

2.  FoodClique Support Initiative

​FoodClique Support Initiative (CAC/IT/NO 54151) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) striving to end hunger. They help those who do not have enough to eat - the homeless, elderly, physically challenged, low income earners and those who live below poverty level.

They distribute both perishable and non-perishable food items, which are either donated or purchased. In addition, they educate the public about the problems of hunger and advocate for legislations that protect people from going hungry.

3.  Lagos Food Bank Initiative

Lagos Food Bank is a non-profit, nutrition-focused initiative committed to fighting hunger, reducing food waste and solving the problem of malnutrition through targeted programs. These programs seek to improve the nutrition/food intake of pregnant women and their infants who are not able to get the required nutrients during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Citizen for Citizen Initiative

Citizen for Citizen Initiative is a Nigerian citizen driven initiative led by Ibukun Awosika and set up with a goal to mobilize and generate a substantial pool of funds for Citizens, Residents and Nigerians in Diaspora during the Covid-19 pandemic. This initiative focuses on reaching out to those impacted in areas of health, education and general welfare.

Omonemini Foundation

6. Ashake Foundation

Ashake Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to resolve poverty and unemployment by providing skill acquisition, financial literacy trainings to undeserved widows in Nigeria. During the pandemic, they have helped to provide food relief to over 200 widows in Abuja, Nigeria.
