So it’s Christmas again! That time of the year when we travel, plan, attend parties, send out cards and basically just have a good time with family and friends.

At Nigerian NGO, we believe that Christ is the reason for Christmas. It marks the period when God gave a gift that left the earth changed forever – Jesus.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

From the scripture above, we see that the culmination of God’s love as expressed in the bible was in His GIVING to us, something so precious. And so it only follows that this is the season of GIVING.

This Christmas we urge you to look outside your comfort zone, outside the festivities and parties, and give to someone around you. Give of your time, energy or resources. Give a compliment, prayers, a hug, a meal, clothes, shelter, money, gifts, an opportunity to someone in need of it around you – Trust me, they won’t be too hard to find.
We also believe that Christmas is a time to reflect and be thankful, for life, family, food, opportunities, health, goals met during the year, and to just appreciate whatever it is that we have.

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.” 1st Chronicles 16:34 (KJV)

So instead of complaining and worrying about what you’ve lost or about the coming year, take time to reflect and take stock of what you have gained this year, you will discover that even in the midst of a recession, you have plenty to be thankful for.
So we urge you to enjoy the holidays, to give and be thankful. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Happy Holidays!

Love,
Nigerian NGO
