Zenith Environmental and Social Protection Network Foundation Donates N80m Hostel to Abia University5/9/2022 A non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Zenith Environmental and Social Protection Network (ZESPRONET), has unveiled a blueprint for harnessing the economic potential of South East into meaningful development. The organisation said it would focus on encouraging state governors in the region to work together for the collective good of people, irrespective of party differences.
The International President of ZESPRONET, Dr. Emeka Boris, who made the disclosure at a 2022 fundraising dinner organised by the organisation in Abuja, said the group has the knowledge base to encourage states in the South East to focus and push for the interconnectivity of gas pipelines from Abia State, through Imo to major business centres of Aba, Nnewi, Onitsha, Enugu and Abakaliki. Boris said: “That alone will bring businesses back to the cities, increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and reduce reliance on the monthly allocations from the Federal Government. “This is the type of deliberations and arguments we have at ZESPRONET, and we hope the governors of the South East states would invite us for further deliberations and statistics,” Oji added. He added that the organisation had, among other things, built and donated an N80, 000,000 44-bed-space postgraduate hostels to the Abia State University, which, he said, was commissioned by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in November 2021.
