F & R Projects Collaborate with Slum2School to Celebrate the International Day of The Girl Child21/10/2018 F & R Projects recently held an event to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, which was observed worldwide on Thursday, October 11th, 2018. The Day of Girls Event saw us partner with Slum2School, to organize a book reading with over 100 underprivileged school girls between ages 11-16 from schools all around Lagos state.
A project funded primarily by the support and donations of corporate and individual patrons, with the aim of creating a better world for everyone by actively working to improve the welfare and enforce the human rights of the girl child. Girls at this event were opportune to meet with successful women and some of their favourite female celebrities who read, mentored these girls and handed out back to school packs and books provided by the donations of the Patrons, to encourage and facilitate literacy of the girl child Mentors/Readers at this event were; Vimbai Muntinhiri – Tv Personality and Producer, Eku Edewor – Tv Personality, Actress and producer, Lehle Baldé – Strategic and Partnership lead, Business day, Ahprodija – singer/songwriter, Imoh Eboh – Curator, World Economic Global Shapers Lagos Hub, Mildred-Peace Ehiguese- Miss Nigeria 2017, Stellah Natumbwe- Miss Uganda 2013, Idia Aisien – Tv personality and producer and DJ Cuppy- DJ and Singer. I can't help myself but smile while reading this article. I am so proud of those people who are behind this activity. And of course, on behalf of the people that you were able to help during this event, I would like to thank all of you who have given their best just to be able to help other people. I would also like to say how much awesome you all are. I wish that you will never stop making these children smile and happy. They are so blessed to have you guys.
