A non-governmental organization (NGO), Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) has given out free school uniforms, sandals, and other learning materials to 2000 primary school pupils in five primary Schools in Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri southwest council, Delta State. In a project tagged “Kit up to School 2021”, the foundation equally distributed books and writing materials to the pupils.
The foundation had promised to provide free school uniforms to schools in the riverine communities of the state during their “Street to School” programme it launched last year, where books, school bags and learning materials were distributed to 2000 pupils in various primary schools in Gbaramatu kingdom. The benefitting schools whose pupils got free school uniforms, sandals and other learning materials included Okpele-Ama Primary School, Tebujor, Toruyor Primary School, Opuede-bubor; Kupa Primary School, Ubefan; Kere Primary School, Egwa and Pepper-ama Primary School all in the Gbaramatu Kingdom. The foundation said the project was carried out as a follow-up to last year’s Project Street2School where they identified over 90% of primary school pupils were lacking uniforms and learning items. Items distributed included a pair of school uniforms, a pair of School sandals, notebooks, and writing materials. The team of Volunteers from EBF was led by the President and Founder, Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo, his wife and co-founder, Loveth, the director-general, Deacon Ogaga Darlington Ossai, director Riverine Communities, Augustina Odudu, Welfare Director, Ms Juliet Seiyefa, Director of Media, Hon Gharvan White Ofuafo and several others.
