The Change-A-Life (CAL) TV Special is a live TV show broadcast on the 1st of January every year that serves as a platform to highlight keen issues, celebrate philanthropic and corporate social responsibilities and encourage and promote the Nigerian youth as a viable and productive member of the society . The selected guests are featured for being a source of inspiration and encouragement to the young people who aspire to succeed in their various life endeavors. Over the years the show has hosted Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Former Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), the first female chairman of First Bank Nigeria, Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Minister of Information and Culture: Alhaji Lai Muhammad etc. Described as bigger and better, the 2017 edition hosted a panel discussion with key players in politics, business, entertainment, technology and advocacy. The panellists discussed and raised awareness on happenings in the society and also encouraged everyday individuals to make little personal changes and continuous acts of kindness to help change lives. The show ended in a New Year Day celebration with Change-A-Life’s beneficiaries receiving gift items. CAL is a social non-profit organisation founded in 2002 by Funmi Iyanda to bridge the gap between individuals with great potential in academic, entrepreneurial and leadership spheres.
