As the world unites to fight the deadly pandemic Coronavirus which has ravaged over 150 countries across the world, Arise Women (AW), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), in Africa, has concluded plans to support the Lagos State Government with Ventilators and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in order to tackle the virus and stop the spread of the epidemic. The Organisation which has always been on the forefront of several empowerment and humanitarian activities over the years building hospitals, schools, mobile clinics and empowering over 50,000 Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion, is joining other well-meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies who have come together at this dire times to support government of the day in the war against COVID-19.
AW, which is led by a Lawyer of 35 years cognate experience, Dr. Siju Iluyomade, has procured ventilators, several surgical masks, sanitisers, hand gloves, and many other safety kits that will be presented to the government of Lagos State which has been the epicenter of pandemic COVID-19 in Nigeria since the first case was recorded in the country on February, 27, 2020. According to Dr. Iluyomade, these tough times call for payers and goodwill. She said: “Let’s remember the poor; let’s reach out with food, hand wash, sanitisers, gloves, mask and other relief materials. It is very important to also remember the health workers, Doctors, Nurses, Lab technicians, cleaners who are all on the front line in our prayers." Source: Guardian Woman
