In a bold step toward sustainable development and gender-inclusive economic growth, The Skilled Women Initiative (TSWINI), a nonprofit organization, has successfully trained and empowered 30 underserved women in electric mobility within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The initiative, delivered through TSWINI’s flagship RideVolt Electric Mobility Programme, was executed in collaboration with the German Development Cooperation Programme (GIZ) and Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. Over the course of four weeks, participants engaged in an intensive, hands-on curriculum focused on electric tricycles—popularly known as electric Kekes.
The comprehensive training covered vital areas including electric vehicle assembly, driving techniques, maintenance, safety protocols, troubleshooting, and clean energy utilization. At the end of the program, each participant received a fully equipped electric mobility toolbox to support their transition into the green transport sector. Source: THISDAY
