The Rotary Action Group for Family Health and AIDS Prevention, in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Health, and other stakeholders, has called on Nigerians to take advantage of its annual three-day free health screening and referral program, "Rotary Family Health Days." The initiative, which began on February 13 ran till February 15, 2025, aimed to benefit 120,000 Nigerians across 120 locations nationwide, with 75 sites concentrated in Lagos and Ogun states.
Speaking at a media briefing, National Programme Coordinator and Past District Governor of Rotary International, Bola Oyebade, announced that the program, valued at over $200,000, will focus on polio immunisation, malaria screening and treatment, HIV testing and counselling, hypertension screening, deworming for children, and cervical and breast cancer screening. A new partner, Butter Fly, will provide specialized equipment for pregnancy screenings in Enugu, further expanding the initiative’s impact.
