The QAT Foundation, a prominent non-governmental organization, has awarded scholarships to 370 deserving students, including 150 out-of-school children at the primary level, 150 at the secondary level, and 70 undergraduate students in tertiary institutions. The ceremony took place at Luchia Hotel in Kaduna on Sunday, coinciding with the 64th birthday of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. In her address, Hajiya Halima Tejuosho, founder of the QAT Foundation, underscored the critical role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering social equity. She emphasized that the scholarships, specifically aimed at people living with disabilities (PLWDs) and out-of-school children, reflect the foundation’s commitment to addressing educational disparities in Nigeria.
Tejuosho paid tribute to Senator Tinubu, describing her as a figure of compassion and dedication to societal betterment. “Today, we celebrate a woman of exceptional virtue, whose life exemplifies selflessness and commitment to empowering women, children, and vulnerable populations,” she stated. As the ceremony marked a significant milestone in the First Lady’s life, Tejuosho highlighted Tinubu’s enduring legacy of leadership, integrity, and service to humanity. “We are proud to honor her contributions and the positive impact she has made in our nation,” she concluded.
