In response to the growing threat of online exploitation, the Pristine SACC Education and Technology Initiative has launched a targeted campaign to educate students and teachers on the dangers of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Executive Director Umar Aisha highlighted the increasing risks in digital spaces as young people’s online engagement intensifies, emphasizing the need for proactive measures. The initiative’s comprehensive program aims to equip students with the tools and knowledge to safely navigate the internet. Key areas of focus include emotional catfishing, online blackmail, and exposure to harmful content. Additionally, the campaign empowers educators to act as frontline advocates for digital safety.
Since its launch in November, the campaign has reached 10 senior secondary schools in Ilorin, Kwara State. Through interactive workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions, Pristine SACC staff and volunteers have directly engaged over 500 students, fostering greater awareness and resilience against online threats.
