 KOA Education Foundation is a non-profit organization in Nigeria dedicated to facilitating access to quality education. This foundation was born out of the communal need to ensure every child has access to quality education (SDG 4). They provide learning opportunities, resources, and support systems that empower children and young people, particularly those from underserved communities. The Work KOA Education Foundation Do: ● Facilitate access to quality education for every less-privileged learners ● Increase access to quality learning and study materials, ● Reward academic excellence among pupils ● Equip pupils for the digital world with qualitative and practical ICT training. Their Initiatives/Programs Include: 1. Public Libraries They run two free public libraries, providing access to books and a conducive learning environment for students. These libraries are supported by partners such as Book Aid International, The Pollination Project, The Oxford Review, Give Back Group, Child2Child Book Foundation and New Africa Fund. 2. Literacy and Numeracy Program They run a Literacy and Numeracy program to help children improve their reading, writing, and mathematical skills. This initiative has benefited numerous pupils, and they’ve received support from af Jochnick Foundation and New Africa Fund. 3. Digital Skills Training Our ICT Centre equips young learners with essential digital skills, including computer-based assessments (CBAs), and preparation for JAMB UTME exams. They also train students on document and presentation creation, preparing them for academic and professional success. This program has been supported by the New Africa Fund. 4. School Sponsorship and Educational Materials They support children by covering school fees, providing school materials, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed. Their Impact Include: ● Over 1,000 students have benefited from their educational programs. ● Their public libraries serve over 1,000 learners. ● They currently offer scholarships to 30 pupils/students. ● Their literacy and numeracy program has supported 25 pupils and currently supports 20 pupils in foundational learning. ● Their digital skills training has empowered students with computer literacy and job-relevant skills. They have trained over 70 students and are currently training 15 students on digital skills.
