 Her Dream Initiative is a non-governmental organization founded by Heritage Sanmi-Lawal in 2021. The core mission of Her Dream Initiative is to achieve Gender Equity by Reviving the Dreams of Women and Girls. The organization’s mission is also to curb discriminatory and harmful practices against women and girls globally. They hope to create safe spaces across the globe and influence policies addressing these issues Their Current Projects Include:
2. Economic Abuse Campaign Her Dream Initiative is liaising with financial institutions to develop policies that will curb economic abuse also known as financial abuse in Nigeria. 3. Beijing +30/United Nations CSW69 Parallel Event This event brought together experts, advocates, and practitioners who explored critical issues at the intersection of women's rights, social development, and health equity. 4. Outreaches To PWDS And In-Humanitarian Settings This outreaches by Her Dream Initiative is focused on SHR Education and sexual violence reporting. These Are The Key/Recent Accomplishments of Her Dream Initiative: 1. Launch of the Domestic Violence Service Providers Directory in November 2022: The DV Responders Directory was launched to make help available for any individual being domestically abused in Nigeria. This directory contains contact information of these organisations and experts, as well as the service they provide. Services includes toll-free lines to call and special USSD codes or apps that immediately connect callers to responders, especially in rural communities. This information was gathered by relying on online resources and data gathered while engaging with social workers and responders across Nigeria. Furthermore, this directory will be updated annually to create awareness of new centers. 2. Re-Launch of the Women in Law Podcast. 3. Her Dream Initiative also carried out period health outreaches from October 2022 to October 2024, to secondary schools in Nigeria where they distributed sanitary products and spoke on period health, sexual harassment as well as counsel on career choices and offer support where needed. 4. GMYT (God's Might) African Humanitarian Awards nominated the organization for the Women Empowerment Award (2022) 5. By 2023, Her Dream Initiative launched the Sexual Violence Survivor Guide, to educate girls on sexual violence reporting and curbing rape culture globally.
