MTN Nigeria has taken its popular campus engagement programme, MTN Pulse, to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), bringing a weekend of entertainment, entrepreneurship, and empowerment to students.
The highlight of the event was the grand prize—a Changan ALVSIN V3 car valued at about ₦30 million—won by Nduka Judith Chidera, a 500-level Biochemistry student. Other participants received laptops, microwaves, mobile phones, power banks, and a variety of electronic accessories.

Speaking at the ceremony, MTN’s Youth Segment Manager, Femi Adesina, said the initiative goes beyond providing telecommunications services, aiming instead to create meaningful connections with young people through opportunities that blend empowerment with entertainment.

The MTN Pulse experience featured music performances, cinema sessions, and cutting-edge technology showcases, including Virtual Reality and Augmented Movies. Students also enjoyed access to MTN’s digital services, social media bundles, and MoMo products. The programme doubled as a “Student Interest Entrepreneur” platform, allowing young people to showcase business ideas and creative talents.

According to Adesina, MTN Pulse has already made stops at the University of Abuja, University of Calabar, and University of Ibadan. Upcoming editions are planned for the University of Benin, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos, Ahmadu Bello University, and Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, to ensure a wide regional reach.

With its blend of entertainment, innovation, and student-focused empowerment, MTN Pulse continues to strengthen the brand’s connection with Nigeria’s youth across campuses nationwide.
