In partnership with Itel Mobile, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) has provided food and educational materials to 1,000 children across five schools in the Oko Agbon community of Makoko, Lagos. This effort is part of LFBI's EDUFOOD programme, aimed at reducing the rate of out-of-school children and boosting school attendance by offering nutritious meals to students in underserved communities. Mopelola Oladapo, EDUFOOD's Programme Officer, emphasized that the initiative not only enhances enrolment and attendance but also improves students' concentration and learning outcomes. The EDUFOOD initiative runs every Tuesday and Thursday.
To commemorate World Food Bank Day, Itel Mobile partnered with LFBI to visit Mawu Madoka Primary School in Makoko, where they distributed school bags, reading materials, and food to the children.
