On August 24th, 2024, Jtwenty7 International Foundation hosted its first-ever Widows Forum, themed "Navigating Through Widowhood." This poignant event aimed to support and uplift widows, providing a safe space for connection, healing, and growth. The day began with a powerful blend of the National Anthem, Women's Anthem, and prayers from both Islamic and Christian religions. The Chairman, Mr. Olufemi Olaiya, and Executive Director, Mrs. Doyin Femi-Olaiya, warmly welcomed attendees and shared inspiring remarks and opening speech. Renowned keynote speakers, including Mrs. Hope Ifeyinwa Nwakwesi, Hon. Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, and Mrs. Cecilia Bolaji Dada, delivered thought-provoking talks on women's empowerment, widowhood, and poverty alleviation. Their words resonated deeply, touching hearts and minds. Two impactful panel sessions followed with the first themed: Psychological Problems of Widowhood: Focus on Mental Health of Widows. It was an honest discussion led by Mrs. Toyin Falaiye, Omotara Aisida, and Sandra Anyahaebi, moderated by Esther Alaribe. While the second panel session themed: Managing Finance as a Small Business Owner (Budgeting and Saving). A practical guide featuring Hon. Fatee Mohammed, Oyinkansade Adeleke, and Abiodun Abdullahi, moderated by David Ironta. Throughout the event, resilience, hope, and the unwavering strength of widows were celebrated. Activities included gift presentations, recognition, games, empowerment program showcases, and heartfelt photo sessions, all expertly MC'd by Mrs. B.A. Mogaji Oduleye.
