 Germany-based Nigerian philanthropist, Joy Orude, has launched the JK El Roi Foundation, a new initiative focused on empowering youths and women in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State. The foundation was unveiled during the festive season with a medical outreach programme, where residents received free medical tests and basic healthcare services. Speaking at the launch, Orude explained that the foundation was created to support vulnerable individuals, especially children living on the streets. She said the goal is to help them return to school or acquire practical skills, working closely with their parents to make this possible. Having grown up in Ajegunle, Orude described the initiative as a deeply personal mission to restore hope and opportunity in her community. She noted that the foundation brings to life a vision she first shared over 25 years ago. With the support of her husband, Orude revealed that the JK El Roi Foundation plans to roll out empowerment programmes three times a year.
