In a significant move to empower young women in the Obokun State Constituency, the Adewumi Adeyemi Foundation, in partnership with the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University, has launched the first phase of an extensive entrepreneurship training program. This initiative, which commenced this week, aims to provide participants with critical entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, promoting economic self-reliance and sustainable development within the community. The initial phase of the program welcomed 200 young women, carefully selected from a large pool of applicants, to participate in a two-day intensive training session. This training is meticulously designed to deliver practical knowledge and skills essential for successful entrepreneurship. The program underscores the foundation's commitment to the belief that true empowerment begins with education and skill acquisition, equipping these young women with the tools they need to build and sustain their enterprises.
During the training, participants engaged in various interactive sessions covering key aspects of entrepreneurship, such as business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and innovation. Expert trainers from the EDC led these sessions, providing valuable insights and hands-on experience to ensure the participants could translate their learnings into actionable business plans. Honourable Adewumi Adeyemi, also known as Irekandu, the founder of the Adewumi Adeyemi Foundation and a member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Obokun State Constituency, expressed his steadfast dedication to creating an environment that nurtures education, innovation, and sustainable development. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in empowering young women to become self-reliant and economically independent, which in turn would contribute to the overall development of the Obokun State Constituency. Moreover, Honourable Adeyemi highlighted that this program is only the beginning of a series of initiatives planned by the foundation to support young entrepreneurs. Future phases of the training program will include advanced courses, mentorship opportunities, and access to funding to help these young women grow their businesses. By providing these young women with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed, the Adewumi Adeyemi Foundation and the Enterprise Development Center are making a lasting impact on the community, fostering a new generation of female entrepreneurs poised to drive economic growth and innovation in the region.
