CITY Boy Movement Nigeria has inaugurated its North-East Grand Empowerment Programme to support youths and vulnerable people with skills, business resources and financial assistance to improve their livelihoods. The programme was inaugurated on Saturday in Maiduguri by the movement’s National Co-Patron, Mr. Amir Shettima, who said the initiative was part of the organisation’s commitment to grassroots engagement, economic empowerment and human capital development in the region.
Shettima said the programme was designed to help beneficiaries establish or expand businesses, become self-reliant and contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities. Items distributed included tricycles, computers, mini solar-power systems, freezers and Point-of-Sale (POS) machines. Beneficiaries also received 100 solar generators, 100 sewing machines, 100 wheelchairs, 500 deep freezers and cash support for business development. Shettima urged beneficiaries to use the equipment and financial support judiciously, stressing that the movement would continue to expand its empowerment initiatives to reach more youths and vulnerable people across the North-East. The initiative represents another step in the movement’s efforts to translate community-focused empowerment into practical opportunities for economic independence.
