 The wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Aisha Mohammed, has unveiled an empowerment package worth over N80 million to support women across the state. The First Lady also distributed bags of cassava to women as part of efforts to improve their livelihoods and strengthen household incomes.
The initiative was disclosed on Sunday in a statement by the Press Secretary to the First Lady, Zainab Garba, following the distribution event. Garba said the intervention reaffirmed the First Lady’s commitment to improving the welfare and economic wellbeing of women in Bauchi State. She added that the APM governorship candidate, Yakubu Adamu, also donated N5 million to women from the state’s 20 local government areas to support transportation and facilitate their return to their communities. According to the statement, the interventions highlight the importance of empowering women as key contributors to families, communities and the overall development of Bauchi State.
