The Africa Nature Investors (ANI) Foundation has reinforced its dedication to women’s empowerment, particularly among communities surrounding the Gashaka Gumti National Park in Adamawa and Taraba States. This renewed commitment was marked by the commissioning of a newly established Women’s Centre in Toungo Local Government Area of Adamawa State, situated on the northern edge of the national park. The facility aims to serve as a hub for skills development and economic empowerment for women in the region.
During the inauguration ceremony, where 450 women received livelihood support, Deputy Project Manager of the Foundation, David Peter, highlighted the strategic role of women in community development and conservation efforts. In a message delivered on behalf of the Conservator-General of the National Park Service (NPS), Dr. Ibrahim Goni, the Assistant Conservator-General, Dr. Mohammed Kabir, commended ANI’s efforts. He described the programme as a reflection of a shared commitment to driving economic transformation through inclusive and community-focused conservation strategies. Source: THE NATION

Empowering women through conservation is admirable. Supporting this with financial education such as an Investment Management Course ensures women not only lead initiatives but also manage funding effectively and independently.
