A significant gesture of philanthropy was recently made by the Tunmise Ayodele Foundation in Ikere, Ekiti State. A total of 500 students from the African Church Comprehensive High School benefited from scholarships awarded by the foundation. These scholarships not only covered the provision of essential textbooks but also included the payment of registration fees for the National Economic Council and the Joint Admission Matriculation Board exams. In addition to supporting the students, the foundation extended its benevolence to the broader community. Over 800 residents from the Ogbon Tutun and Oke Ikere areas received free medical services, food palliatives, and cash gifts during an event held on Saturday.
Dr. Tunmise Ayodele, the convener of the foundation, spoke passionately about his commitment to aiding the less privileged and inspiring others through his actions. He highlighted that the foundation was created with the mission to support vulnerable individuals in society. “This is our first outreach in this community,” Dr. Ayodele remarked. “I grew up with a mother who was always giving, despite having little herself. She would pay school fees for children and give to the needy. As a young child, I followed her example, sharing our food with friends who had less. This spirit of giving is something I am committed to continuing throughout my life.” The impact of the foundation's efforts was evident in the response from the community. Mrs. Viavo Atomeji, the principal of African Church Comprehensive High School, praised Dr. Ayodele for his dedication to improving the educational standards of his alma mater. Community leaders also voiced their support and willingness to collaborate with the foundation to expand its reach. Pa Olowoyo Familusi, Joseph Innocent, and Favour Adu expressed their enthusiasm for working together to extend the foundation’s initiatives to more members of the community. This event not only provided immediate relief and support to many but also underscored the importance of giving back to the community and the positive ripple effect such actions can have. The Tunmise Ayodele Foundation’s efforts are a testament to the power of individual and collective philanthropy in creating lasting change. Source: PUNCH
